Sally. Sorry. Should have put a smiley or something after that. It was just meant like "who made him boss" or some other such saying. Didn't mean to infer he "really was" the spokesperson of the parents. Though my opinion was that was exactly what he was trying to do.

Abarwench...I think it's pretty far stretch to call Byers a spokesperson for anybody but himself. I'm sure you weren't really trying to do that, but I just wanted to make sure people know that he definitely does not speak for all the families.

Yes, this article first appeared in the CA on May 7th. The correction was in the May 8th edition. They added it to this article in the archives, for clarification.

The CA is a morning, daily paper. We have CA stands here in Tupelo as well, and they're usually already out as early as 7 am, here in Tupelo. I've picked up many at the store on my way to work of a morning.

Regarding Ward, that Destini mentioned; he was also once the youngest death row inmate. I...

you know that is kinda weird--byers saying if the s&r had gotten there earlier the boys might have had a 50-50 chance??? sounds like byers has a different estimated time of death of these children in mind? it would be a little easier for him to conclude it is the s&r teams fault the kids are dead--they didnt find them fast enuff-

Just curious. Who made Byer's the Official Spokesman for the parents? I was surprised(I don't know why) to see him already talking with the media the day after the boys were found. He's the first one talking to newspaper reporters, the one who talks the most in PL1, the only one who talks in PL2, the one who does Leeza, the one who I saw on Court TV. Doesn't mean guilt. Just puts a question in my mind as to why weren't the other parents talking and why was he talking so much?

Yup the wimpd is one big joke. But as for the OTHER triple homicides, grab ya a cup of coffee (or tequila) and enjoy this one...

Those would be the Ronald Ward murders that went down back in 1985. GUESS WHO got to run that show. Yup. Gary Gooberkop Gitchell.
The victims were 2 older ladies and a little boy, white, stabbed to death by a young black male, which was supposedly during a break in.

This kid got an all white jury and was sentenced to die but the ASC overturned it...

I was just curious, what is considered a JUSTIFIABLE HOMICIDE? And the AUTHORITIES JUSTIFY HOMICIDES?

Destini9 Thanks for repeating this paragraph! Now I have to wonder, Byers was in with the WMPD running drugs etc., (at one point in time) under cover, do you suppose he probably knew about Police Department Policies and Procedures etc., thus the call to "another PD county" for his supposed cry for more officers to help with the search?

Thanks, Breezin! I just want some clarification. The date on the article is May 7, but the correction date is May 8. I'm assuming that they included the correction on the online article and simply noted that the correction went out on the 8th, right?
