Boy you guys in the States are so darned lucky! You now have a President who, in my view, could end up snatching that crown from JFK in the historical sense. In this day and age now, that means in about 30 years or so!!
Obama's speech in Cairo was nothing short of brilliant and well deserved of the standing ovation at the end as well as applause during it. Now we just hope and pray that he is given that green light all the way along so that he can deliver. What an orator. I was riveted for the whole time and it had to have been about an hour.
He was, and is, superb. So what if he uses a teleprompter? Rather that than someone reciting soullessly! Was going to make theatrical joke but that have been seen as a snub at Reagan, so resisted! It appears that he, Obama, writes his own speeches with in put from advisers/speech writers, rather than having a team write them with some input from him.
He is literate, intelligent and very articulate. One hell of an orator! Yeah!!!!!!
Next challenge - it would be great if he can get through to the Chinese too. 20 years after Tiananmen Square and it is still denied in Beijing. Their secret police dancing around with umbrellas to block line of sight for TV journalists doing their pieces to camera - farcical but, so far, not antagonistic.
Meanwhile our government here in UK is in apparent melt-down as a result of cross the board exposure of fiddling expences. Across the board = Both sides of the aisle.
I hope Americans across the planet are feeling darned proud today!
