I've only gotten drawn into this case within the last couple of months so sorry if this has been discussed too much already. I find myself focused on the very unusual method of tying the boys up. I ask myself: who would think to use that method & why? It's no more secure then tying both hands together behind the back & then the feet together. I read on here the speculation of that method being used during the Vietnam war but I can't find any photographic evidence of that so far.
